Job description

Title: Physical AI Engineering & Strategy Consultant

Location: Alpharetta, GA - Fully Onsite

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Note: W2 Position Only

Description

A Critical requirement for a unique skill set that is not currently available internally at Client. Specifically, we are seeking an AI specialist with expertise in programming quadruped/humanoid robots from the Chinese manufacturer, Unitree, and proficiency with NVIDIA Omniverse. Merely having experience with robots will not be sufficient for this role.

The Opportunity

The Physical AI Lab is leading the integration of advanced AI technologies with real-world physical systems. As part of this effort, the team is building various AI labs based in Alpharetta and seeks individuals interested in a long-term commitment to this growing practice.

As a Senior Consultant in Physical AI, you will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams across Client to design and deliver innovative solutions that combine robotics, software, and open-source technologies. This role provides a strong platform for ongoing learning and research, enabling you to help transform how organizations apply AI across industries. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Physical AI by contributing to new methodologies and technologies that address complex, real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced Physical AI solutions and driving innovation across the practice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering reusable, scalable demonstrations that showcase the seamless integration of software and hardware in Physical AI applications.
  • Presenting innovations and serving as a subject-matter expert at Client hosted events, including innovation summits and technology showcases.
  • Analyzing market trends and conducting strategic assessments to guide solution development, identify emerging opportunities, and position the team’s capabilities within the evolving Physical AI landscape.
  • Leveraging deep expertise in the NVIDIA ecosystem to architect and execute solutions aligned with stakeholder and client needs.
  • Leading robotics development initiatives with a focus on perception, autonomous navigation, and world foundation models to improve operational efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical leadership throughout the end to end project lifecycle.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Success in this role requires a strong blend of technical capability and interpersonal effectiveness. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • A strong passion for innovation paired with a proactive, solutions oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking to inform project direction, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with clients and colleagues, fostering a highly collaborative environment.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–6 years of professional experience in areas including robotics, digital twins, computer vision, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and world foundation models such as VLA and VA.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying scalable AI systems that effectively integrate software and hardware components.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, C++, and/or Java, with hands-on experience using robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS) and simulation platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Isaac Sim).
  • Deep familiarity with the NVIDIA ecosystem, including practical experience leveraging NVIDIA technologies for robotics and AI solution development.
  • Solid understanding of robotic systems, including kinematics, dynamics, control algorithms, and sensor integration such as LiDAR and vision systems.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning methods applied to robotics, automation, and intelligent decision-making.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining robotics platforms and digital twin solutions, with an emphasis on real-time data integration and simulation.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy), along with hands-on experience using machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience with DevOps and delivery tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps) and Agile practices (e.g., Jira) to support multi-feature development, pipelines, and releases.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical insights, recommendations, and opportunities to both clients and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements and stakeholder collaboration.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline; graduate research experience may be considered in lieu of some industry experience.
  • Prior experience conducting research in robotics, automation, or digital twin technologies, including contributions to academic journals or conference publications that demonstrate technical depth and research impact.
  • Strong proficiency in computer vision techniques and libraries for object detection, tracking, and recognition, with demonstrated application in robotic systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and optimize algorithms for path planning, motion planning, and autonomous decision making to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing approaches to validate robotic system performance through real time integration of hardware and simulation environments.
  • Strong understanding of, or demonstrated interest in, Agentic AI and Generative AI, with the ability to explore and implement innovative use cases in Physical AI systems.
