Creative Lead - Cinematographer / Director / Editor (Equity Partner)

Origin & Story is a specialty coffee subscription that features a different world-class roaster every month. We don't just ship coffee. We go to each roaster's space, film a documentary about who they are, shoot brew guides on location, and build a full content experience for subscribers.

We're looking for a creative lead to own all video production. This is an equity partnership, not a freelance gig. You'd join as a co-builder with real ownership in the company.

What You'd Do

• Direct and shoot a monthly documentary at each featured roaster's location (1-3 day shoots, travel required)
• Film brew guides on location with the roaster (espresso and pour-over)
• Lead creative direction for all video: documentary, social, portal, paid
• Edit documentaries (5-10 min), brew guides, and social cuts (Reels, TikToks)
• Collaborate with the founding team on creative direction and shoot planning
• Help define the visual identity of a growing brand

Required Skills and Equipment

• Cinema camera experience: RED, Sony FX3/FX6, Blackmagic, ARRI, or equivalent
• Manual lens work, lighting setups, on-location audio capture
• 4K+ documentary-quality footage
• Professional color grading in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or Final Cut
• Can edit long-form documentary and cut to short-form social
• Own or have access to a cinema camera kit

• You care about craft. Coffee, food, film, design. You pay attention to how things are made.
• You work well in small teams. Our shoots are lean: you, the founders, and a roaster with a story worth telling. You'd help shape creative direction and direct alongside us.
• You want to build something real, not just produce content for someone else.
• You're comfortable with early-stage energy. We're growing and figuring things out as we go.

Compensation: Equity partnership. You'd receive ownership in Origin & Story as a creative partner. No cash compensation at this stage. This is right for someone who sees the upside of joining early, building a portfolio of cinematic work under their name, and growing with a brand that has real traction and loyal subscribers.
