The primary function of this position is to define, drive, and ensure structural engineering quality, consistency, and performance across all SBA International markets. This role provides technical leadership to the Structural Engineering organization, ensuring alignment with SBA’s business objectives, production targets, and long‑term growth strategy.
The Senior Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supervising the Structural Engineering team, while partnering closely with local engineering organizations to coordinate activities, standardize engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable structural codes, industry standards, and SBA requirements. This position also serves as a key point of escalation and decision‑making for complex or high‑risk structural matters, driving continuous improvement initiatives, promoting engineering best practices, and recommending innovative and scalable solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency across international markets.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor Engineering teamto ensure continuous improvement of technical expertise, leadership capability, and structured career path planning across international markets.
- Oversee and govern the review and approval of tower structural analyses and tower modification drawings performed by external vendors and local engineering teams.
- Direct the generation, interpretation, and executive-level synthesis of engineering reports, analyzing trends and providing strategic recommendations.
- Define performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards for the Structural Engineering organization.
- Partner with local and regional Engineering teams to align resources and meet production goals for structural analysis and A&E drawings.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk structural engineering matters.
- Establish governance and quality oversight for modification drawings and engineering deliverables.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Construction, Operations, Legal, Procurement, and Finance to manage workflow impacts and regulatory compliance.
- Sponsor and guide teams executing specialized engineering assignments requiring complex calculations or non-standard solutions.
- Ensure governance and accountability for timely execution of tower modification and remediation programs.
- Evaluate and sponsor the selection of new design, analysis, and productivity tools.
- Define the adoption of new technical methods and developments in tower engineering across markets.
- Lead RFQs/RFPs for engineering services across international markets, leveraging U.S. and local vendors.
- Identify, standardize, and deploy best practices across international markets.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct and indirect supervisory responsibility over the Structural Engineering organization supporting SBA International markets.
- Provides functional oversight to Engineers and Designers across multiple countries.
- Accountable for performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and talent pipeline health.
- Influences organizational design, staffing models, and resource allocation to support scalability and productivity.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, including leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams across multiple countries or regions.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required; Portuguese strongly preferred for international collaboration.
