Job Summary
We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing and research and development (R&D). The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, testing, and improving mechanical systems and processes to drive product innovation and optimize manufacturing operations. This role requires a unique blend of hands-on problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate would have proficient experience in injection mold design, sheet metal design, vacuum forming, and machine part design.
What You’ll Do
Product Design and Development:
- Collaborate with R&D teams to design, prototype, and test mechanical components and systems.
- Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings to support product development.
Manufacturing Support:
- Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues on the manufacturing floor, providing timely solutions to maintain production efficiency.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and scalability.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements in both R&D and manufacturing.
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to achieve project goals.
- Prepare technical documentation, including test plans, reports, and engineering change notices, to support project execution.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in mechanical engineering to drive innovation.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, materials, and methods to enhance product performance and manufacturing processes.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in manufacturing and R&D environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical challenges.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
- A proactive, collaborative attitude and passion for sustainability and innovation.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent visual inspection of products and use of computers and testing equipment.
- Ability to move boxes weighing up to 40 lbs. regularly and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
- Regular movement, including standing, bending, and handling materials as needed.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept to completion.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 (“CA Pay Transparency Law”). Base pay information is based on market location. Learn more about ecoATM benefits here.
