Job Description:

   

Provides technology consulting services to external customers and internal project teams. Responsible for delivering technical leadership and support in the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions aligned with customer business objectives. Develops a deep understanding of customer environments and serves as a trusted advisor by establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and successful outcomes.

Maintains expertise in leading‑edge technologies and relevant industry and market domains. Actively contributes to the organization’s solutions portfolio by sharing technical knowledge, methodologies, and best practices derived from customer engagements. Shapes technical direction and strategy both internally and for external customers.

Accountable for maintaining consistent and significant chargeability levels (or providing expense relief for internal projects) and supporting the achievement of revenue and customer satisfaction goals. Contributes to organizational profitability by identifying and cultivating new business opportunities and providing technical support throughout the sales and proposal development lifecycle.

Management Level Definition

Contributions have a regular and sustained impact on the technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services. Applies advanced subject‑matter expertise to solve complex business and technical challenges and is recognized as a subject matter expert within the organization.

Provides expert guidance and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross‑functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment in determining optimal approaches to achieve objectives. May provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify and implement detailed technical solution designs as defined by the Project or Technical Manager.
  • Develop and document detailed technical designs for enterprise‑scale solutions.
  • Serve as Principal Consultant for the analysis, design, and development of enterprise technology solutions.
  • Lead technical assessments and delivery of complex solutions, ensuring high performance and quality outcomes.
  • Establish and manage team structures that support effective performance and oversee team lifecycle activities.
  • Coordinate implementation of new installations, system designs, and migrations across networks, applications, or platform domains.
  • Provide advanced technical consulting and advisory support for proposal efforts, solution design, system management, performance tuning, and solution optimization.
  • Contribute input to organizational technical strategy and long‑term direction.
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize data from appropriate sources to identify and define customer requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests for technical information and guidance.
  • Design and implement customer solutions leveraging industry‑standard products and technologies.
  • Solve complex technical problems across multiple technologies, including developing new approaches when required.
  • Own and manage knowledge sharing within a team, practice, or project, ensuring compliance with reuse and documentation standards.
  • Actively promote participation in professional communities and mentor others within areas of expertise.
  • Produce internally published materials such as knowledge briefs, service delivery components, and technical modules; present at multi‑customer technology conferences.
  • Support sales activities by managing bids or contributing significantly to the sales lifecycle, including providing qualitative and quantitative input for successful proposals.
  • Produce complete proposals for smaller engagements and actively expand the company’s portfolio through existing customer relationships and change management initiatives.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Demonstrated depth and breadth of technical expertise to design and scope multiple deliverables across diverse technologies.
    • Proven ability to innovate and communicate new deliverables, tools, and service offerings.
    • Experience leading teams in the delivery of complex, multi‑technology solutions.
    • Ability to design solutions that enhance availability, performance, maintainability, and agility within customer environments.
    • Experience contributing to the design and implementation of new tools and methodologies.
    • Strong understanding of architectural dependencies within enterprise IT environments.
    • Recognized expert in one or more technologies within the technical community, with regional‑level credibility; holds at least one relevant vendor or industry certification.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external senior management.
    • Ability to operate in multi‑technology environments and diagnose complex issues to root cause, clearly articulating impact and resolution strategies.
    • Broad understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, commercial considerations, and technical challenges, while maintaining depth in a core technical area.
    • Experience presenting technical expertise in customer sales engagements and leading requirements gathering, design, planning, and estimation efforts.
    • Ability to independently deliver solution implementations or application designs.
    • Proven capability to manage and lead teams of consultants through architecture, implementation, and solution delivery

    Education and Experience Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant professional experience; or Without a degree, 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
