Cook/Cashier

Florida Tech Main Campus Melbourne

Dining location: Rathskeller Pizza & Grill

Operating hours: 4:00pm to 11:30pm daily

Come join the team at the late-night hot spot on campus!

Working in an open kitchen, cook to order concept, preparing hot and cold menu items from fresh and frozen state. The duties include opening set-up and closing procedures for pizza making equipment, fryer and flat-top grill stations. Must maintain standards that ensure food safety and presentation, quality, cleanliness, in a fast paced, challenging environment. Also, may be required to operate our POS register system, take customer orders and deliver food around the campus community. All team members are required to assist in maintaining dining room cleanliness, restock the convenient store shelving and drink display coolers.

Responsibilities:

  • May be asked to work at another Campus Dining location as needed
  • The position is typically in our Rathskeller Pizza and Grill quick service, grocery, snack bar and pizza delivery operation and is accountable for following standardized recipes.
  • Operating the cash register according to specified procedures, taking customer orders and maintaining the kitchen area to meet sanitation, health and safety standards.
  • Properly rotate perishable ingredients, utilize code date labeling to ensure the highest quality menu items are served.
  • Performs routine cleaning and organization of workstations, equipment, all food production and food storage areas of the operation.

Requirements:

  • Candidate possessing a current / valid driver’s license is preferred, as this enables them to drive University vehicles for the purpose of food deliveries to the campus community.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Valid US Driver's License and clean driving record.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.  Education and work experience in the food service or similar industry has valued merit

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech’s 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
