Job description
Duties/Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate machining.
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.
Perform routine inspections using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.
Make machine adjustments and offsets to maintain tight tolerances and optimize performance.
Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and team members to improve processes and resolve production challenges.
Maintain accurate documentation of setups, inspections, and production runs. • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in operating CNC machinery (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis preferred).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming concepts.
Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds for various materials (metals, plastics, etc.).
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing software is a plus.
Education/Experience:
Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Technical training, certification, or coursework in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
