Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to produce precision parts according to specifications.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate machining.

  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job.

  • Perform routine inspections using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Make machine adjustments and offsets to maintain tight tolerances and optimize performance.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment.

  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and team members to improve processes and resolve production challenges.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of setups, inspections, and production runs. • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in operating CNC machinery (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis preferred).

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.

  • Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming concepts.

  • Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.

  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds for various materials (metals, plastics, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing software is a plus.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Preferred: Technical training, certification, or coursework in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.

  • Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
