Job description
The Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles to assist in the preparation and processing of accounting transactions, preparing schedules to analyze information and assisting in creating financial reports. The post holder will also perform data entry and administrative support for the department.
Principal Accountabilities
Apply knowledge of accounting principles to activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts.
Apply knowledge of Tax deducted at source (TDS) while processing vendor payments and quarterly filing of TDS returns.
Review and processing of vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
Perform month/quarter/annual close activities which may include Intercompany billings, preparing journal entries, assisting in account reconciliations, preparing reports and resolving issues as needed.
Perform quarterly advance tax calculations and filing of income tax returns and related compliances.
Establish and maintain accurate financial records in Tally and other accounting software.
Assist in preparation of workings for GST monthly & yearly return filings.
Prepare support for reconciliations and support statutory audit queries.

Title of Supervisor: Assistant Manager – Accounting & Payroll
Knowledge & Skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles.
Demonstrate proficiency in finance and accounting softwares such as Tally and Microsoft applications.
Strong computer skills in Excel and reasonable knowledge in Access.
Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation and generate reports.
Ability to work with numbers and complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision.
Experience & Education
Two (2+) plus years of experience in financial analysis or accounting required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Normal office environment.
