Project Director Aviation - Portugal

As we continue to expand our Aviation footprint in Portugal, we are looking for senior leaders with substantial expertise in airport and aviation-related capital projects to support our clients and drive the growth of our Aviation practice.

We are seeking an experienced Project Director – Aviation to support and lead complex programmes within the Portuguese aviation sector and across international hubs.
This role is ideal for a senior professional who enjoys delivering high-value, high-complexity projects and shaping strategic client relationships.

You will be responsible for the oversight of major airport infrastructure developments and will play a crucial role in supporting our growth strategy in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for major airport development projects, from strategic planning through to successful completion.
• Lead, manage, and develop multidisciplinary project teams and external partners.
• Oversee cost, schedule, quality, risk management, and reporting across large-scale programmes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including Portuguese and EU frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with airport operators, government stakeholders, consultants, and global delivery partners.
• Drive delivery strategies, optimisation approaches, and project governance structures.
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Contribute to business development, client engagement, and the expansion of our Aviation presence in Portugal.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading major infrastructure or construction projects within the aviation sector.
• Strong knowledge of airport infrastructure development (e.g., terminals, runways, airside/landside assets).
• Degree in engineering, architecture, project management, or a related discipline.
• Project management certification (PMP, APM, IPMA, etc.) is an advantage.
• Highly effective communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English required; Portuguese language skills highly advantageous.
• EU or international project experience preferred.
