AECOM is seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to join and support the growth of our Urbanism and Planning practice across Australia and New Zealand. As part of one of the region’s most diverse teams, you will contribute to high-profile projects across a range of sectors including city-shaping infrastructure, urban renewal, residential communities, public realm, and transport.
This role offers the opportunity to lead transformative projects, mentor emerging talent, and strengthen AECOM’s reputation for design excellence. With a strong focus on collaboration, sustainability, and strategic thinking, this position is ideal for a motivated professional looking to shape meaningful places and advance their career within a dynamic and growing practice.
This role is based in Perth.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Leading and managing a range of landscape architecture deliverables including landscape strategies, concepts, detailed design, documentation, guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
- Providing landscape architecture advice on a broad range of AECOM projects aligned with the Urbanism and Planning practice including masterplans, feasibility studies, business cases etc
- Effectively managing projects to schedule and budget while achieving high quality outcomes and outputs to the satisfaction of the client.
- Preparing and providing input into high quality fee proposals
- Manage various size groups of landscape architects, designers and/or specialist

The qualities that help you thrive:
- A tertiary qualification to degree level in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or similar
- Ideally suited to a Landscape Architect with, ideally, 10+ years relevant experience in complex urban environments who now looks to step towards major projects and exposure to diverse market sectors, such as Transport, Energy, Buildings and Social Infrastructure
- Proven background in supporting a multidisciplinary team in business development activities, such as preparation of expressions of interest and proposals, promotional and capability materials
- Demonstrable experience coaching, influencing or mentoring junior staff to ensure the delivery of high quality and timely outcomes
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary design studio environment not essential but highly advantageous
