We are seeking a candidate based in India to align with our “Office First” strategy, while collaborating with a geographically distributed team that supports both our UK and European entities.

We solve complex payment problems for hundreds of clients in a range of industries, including Travel, Lending, Wage Advance, and Investment & Wealth.
We are deeply integrated into the payment eco-system. In the UK, we are direct participants of Faster Payments and Bacs. Modulr hold settlement accounts at the Bank of England. Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in multiple currencies. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard schemes across UK and Europe.
Our regulatory permissions and governance structure are the foundations of our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.

The role
The Financial Crime Operations function executes processes to mitigate risks to Modulr as they relate to Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing, Fraud, Sanctions, and other Financial Crime risks (such as Anti-bribery & Corruption).
The Financial Crime Analyst – Quality Assurance plays a critical first‑ line control role by conducting quality assurance reviews of Financial Crime cases across various compliance activities. The role focuses on ensuring cases are completed accurately, consistently and in line with internal procedures, regulatory expectations and quality standards.
This role is predominantly hands‑on, with the majority of time spent performing case-level quality checks, identifying errors, gaps and trends, and feeding insights into the wider Quality & Training framework owned by the Training & Quality Manager. Based on the outcomes of these checks, the analyst will provide constructive feedback and deliver relevant training to enhance colleague capabilities, quality metrics and continuous improvement.
As part of the role, you will help drive continuous improvement for the Operations function with a continual focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance – Case Reviews
- Conduct regular, structured quality assurance reviews of Financial Crime cases.
- Assess case outcomes for accuracy, completeness, consistency and adherence to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Apply agreed Quality & Competency Framework standards consistently across all reviews.
Feedback & Quality Outcomes
- Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback to analysts on reviewed cases, highlighting strengths, errors and required improvements.
- Support analysts in understanding quality expectations and common failure themes.
- Escalate recurring issues, material risks or control weaknesses to the Training & Quality Manager.
Quality Data & Insights
- Accurately record quality outcomes, errors and themes in agreed QA tooling or trackers.
- Contribute insight into emerging risks, process gaps or training needs based on QA findings.
Process & Control Adherence
- Ensure QA activities are completed in line with documented QA processes, sampling methodologies and governance.
- Highlight outdated, unclear or ineffective procedures encountered during QA activity.
- Support a strong control culture through consistent application of quality standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Operations, Quality and Training colleagues to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistency of QA outcomes across reviewers.
- Support quality-related initiatives or projects as required.
About you:
- You are detail‑oriented and comfortable reviewing various Financial Crime cases.
- You are confident applying rules, procedures and frameworks consistently.
- You are able to give balanced, professional feedback and are comfortable challenging poor-quality outcomes.
- You are organised, structured and able to manage repeatable QA workloads.
- You are curious and keen to learn more about quality, risk and control environments.
Skills and experience:
- Experience of working in financial services with good working knowledge of financial crime with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Working understanding of regulatory expectations relevant to Financial Crime Operations (e.g. AML, CTF, Sanctions, Fraud.
- Prior exposure to quality assurance, peer review or second‑line review activities is desirable
- Comfortable performing repeatable, volume‑driven quality assurance activities while maintaining high attention to detail and ability to identify errors, inconsistencies and control gaps.
- Ability to apply quality standards consistently and participate in calibration to ensure aligned outcomes across reviewers.
- Good written communication skills, able to clearly document findings and feedback.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, capable of producing clear, concise and actionable insights.
- Proficiency in documentation and framework management, ensuring operational materials are accurate, current and aligned with functional responsibilities
