This position oversees the creation, execution, and management of a comprehensive strategy for reporting and analytics, with a particular focus on backing value-driven healthcare. The incumbent is tasked with supervising various reporting and analytics domains, such as clinical, financial, operational, health economics, and claims, to generate practical insights that enhance patient results, operational efficacy, and financial viability. Leading a team, this position will furnish data-centered suggestions that are in sync with organizational objectives and augment decision-making processes organization-wide. The suite of reporting and analytics services will encompass standardized tools, self-service options, on-the-spot analyses, and assistance in constructing data tools that facilitate the functioning of care models.
Essential Job Function
- Strategic Leadership and Oversight: Create and execute a thorough reporting and performance analysis plan to bolster value-based care programs and population health management efforts.
- Make sure that the organization's data strategies are in sync with its objectives for enhancing quality, managing costs, and improving patient contentment.
- Act as a primary consultant to top management and senior executives, delivering practical recommendations to enhance decision-making processes and boost overall performance.
- Supervising the development of data tools, dashboards, and reports to monitor clinical, financial, and operational data accurately and appropriately.
- Keep track of essential performance metrics and patterns linked to value-focused healthcare contracts, such as shared savings, performance scores, and risk assessment.
- Engage with both internal and external collaborators, especially payor partners, regarding reporting and analytics, emphasizing data accuracy and interpretations. Ensure that reporting aligns with regulatory, payor, and accreditation standards.
- Evaluation and Enhancement of Performance: Assess the effectiveness of systems in value-focused agreements, pinpointing areas that need improvement and potential areas for growth.
- Work together with clinical, operational, and financial departments to create strategies that improve patient results and decrease expenses.
- Predictive and prescriptive analytics are utilized to offer insights that aid in care management, resource distribution, and strategy planning for care models.
- Engage in contributing data for shaping care model structures and operational processes.
- Lead, guide, and foster the growth of a group comprising health economists, clinical analysts, and performance specialists to enhance leadership and team development.
- Cultivate an environment within the team that encourages innovation, responsibility, and ongoing enhancement.
- Facilitate team members' professional advancement and enhance their technical skills via various training and development initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work together with clinical and administrative executives to ensure that analytical requirements are fulfilled and reporting aids decision-making throughout the company.
- Collaborate with clinical executives, especially care coordination and public health units, to ensure that population health management platform procedures and information correspond with and bolster the healthcare model.
- Promote innovative approaches in the care model by utilizing data-driven decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to prioritize reporting and analytics demands and guarantee they are in sync with the company's key objectives. Work closely with the IT department in managing the daily functions of data management infrastructure and requirements. Engage with the information security, compliance, and privacy units concerning data management to ensure the secure handling of protected health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII), especially concerning data accessibility throughout the clinically integrated network and external collaborators.
- Analyze results and offer suggestions to top management, directors, and interested parties in a concise and feasible manner.
- Engage in the process of choosing, deploying, and enhancing data analysis software, utilities, and structures within the realm of technology and systems administration.
- Uphold data governance protocols to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, upholding stringent criteria for data precision, protection, and adherence to regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with new analytics technologies and methodologies to improve the organization's capabilities.
Education
- Required: Master s degree in economics, computational sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, or related), engineering, public health, or a related field (required); clinical degree (e.g., MD, RN) with informatics experience or actuarial experience (a benefit).
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, reporting, and performance management, preferably in value-based care or population health.
- Demonstrated expertise in population health and/or care management platforms (such as Epic s Value-Based Care tools, Innovaccer, Arcadia, Lightbeam or other) Demonstrated expertise in claims and utilization analytics and use of claims analytics tools (such as Milliman MedInsight) Demonstrated expertise in clinical quality reporting and measures including knowledge of HEDIS, NQF, CMS quality metrics Proficiency in modern data management platforms (such as Databricks or Snowflake), data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Sigma Computing, or Qlik), and analytics languages (SQL, Python, R).
- Experience working within an agile delivery environment and knowledge in the operational aspects of analytics operations (DevOps approach) Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, including value-based payment mechanisms, value-based contracting (governmental and commercial), and bundled payments Understanding of clinical workflows, clinical operations, healthcare reimbursement models, including value-based payment systems, ACOs, and bundled payments (preferred).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
- Proven track record of driving organizational change and performance improvement through data-driven strategies.
