Role and Responsibilities of Product Management Director

You will lead product strategy and execution for seller growth initiatives by building innovative tools, platforms, and experiences that enable sellers to scale successfully. This role requires strategic leadership, deep product expertise, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

  • Build product capabilities that help sellers improve catalog offer quality, pricing competitiveness, review coverage, and transactability
  • Lead the development of a recommendation platform that delivers actionable seller insights
  • Define long-term vision and product strategy to enable sellers to scale their businesses significantly
  • Leverage machine learning and generative AI to deliver transformative product experiences and insights
  • Oversee multiple product teams across domains, including hiring and talent development
  • Partner with stakeholders across product, engineering, data science, analytics, design, and business teams to achieve marketplace success metrics
  • Identify seller needs globally and translate them into product requirements and prioritized roadmaps
  • Oversee product development, backlog prioritization, risk management, dependencies, and rollout strategies
  • Analyze seller, market, and product data to drive data-informed decisions and initiatives
  • Identify market opportunities through competitive analysis and industry benchmarking
  • Drive execution in fast-paced, agile environments while managing multiple high-priority initiatives

Required Skills and Experience of Product Management Director:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with eleven years of experience in product management
  • Alternatively, thirteen or more years of experience in product management or a related area
  • Extensive experience building large-scale marketplace or platform products
  • Strong data-driven decision-making and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • Ten years of experience as a product manager working on large-scale, complex B2B or B2C products
  • Supervisory or people management experience
