REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience supporting system integration, testing, and engineering analysis
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support cloud operations, system integration, and engineering activities for a federal program.

This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems and distributed environments. The position supports system integration, verification and validation, and engineering analysis across enterprise cloud infrastructure while driving improvements in reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the stability and sustainability of cloud-based systems and distributed environments
  • Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities across enterprise systems
  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, and engineering trade studies
  • Support requirements allocation and interface definition for hardware and software systems
  • Develop proactive engineering solutions to monitor and manage distributed system health
  • Analyze system performance, functionality, and configuration issues and implement improvements
  • Utilize trends and operational metrics to enhance system performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with engineering, cloud operations, and cybersecurity teams to support mission objectives
  • Develop technical solutions to complex engineering challenges within cloud environments

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience supporting system integration, testing, and engineering analysis
  • Strong understanding of system performance, troubleshooting, and configuration management

Certifications

  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)
  • One or more cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud) - preferred not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or defense programs
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems and distributed architecture
  • Experience working in high-security or classified environments
  • Experience with system monitoring, automation, or performance optimization tools
  • Ability to operate as a technical leader within complex programs
