Technical Project Manager - Testing

A Fortune 500 investment firm is seeking a Project Manager to support a large-scale Mainframe Exit program. This is a highly visible initiative focused on migrating and modernizing legacy systems that have been in place for over 35 years.

This role sits within a small, high-impact PMO team supporting approximately 20 active workstreams. The Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating across technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders—ensuring alignment, driving testing efforts, and maintaining strong project governance.

This position requires the ability to quickly understand complex, interconnected systems and operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Environment

• Hybrid schedule with required on-site presence in Owings Mills (Tues/Wed)

Key Responsibilities

Testing Strategy & Coordination (Primary Focus)

• Drive and coordinate testing strategy and execution across business and technology teams
• Lead defect triage processes, ensuring timely identification, tracking, and resolution
• Coordinate testing schedules and ensure alignment across multiple workstreams
• Act as the bridge between business users and technical teams during testing cycles

Project Management & PMO Support

• Develop and maintain project documentation including timelines, procedures, and status reports
• Capture and distribute meeting minutes, action items, and follow-ups
• Provide status updates and communications to stakeholders at various levels
• Support daily PMO stand-ups and ensure alignment across workstreams
• Manage shifting priorities and move fluidly between multiple initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 5–6+ years of experience in Project Management or Project Coordination
• Strong understanding of testing lifecycles, test strategy, and defect triage
• Proven ability to manage documentation, timelines, and stakeholder communications
• Experience working across multiple workstreams in complex programs
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or migration programs
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft tools (Power BI for reporting is a plus)
• Experience with JIRA, MS Project, or similar project management tools
• Ability to navigate complex environments with strong personalities and SMEs
