This role focuses on applying data analytics, statistical methods, and modeling techniques to support the development and application of simulation models representing real-world operations at U.S. Ports of Entry (POEs). • **This is a hybrid position. Two (2) to three (3) days in the Herndon office and may be asked to go into the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC one (1) to two (2) times per quarter.

Essential Skills & Qualifications • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages • Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and quantitative problem solving • Experience working with structured datasets using tools such as Excel, SQL, or similar platforms • Experience working with time-based or event-based datasets • Experience or familiarity with simulation modeling (discrete event, Monte Carlo, or agent-based) • Exposure to operations research techniques (e.g., queueing theory, system modeling, optimization) • Experience analyzing transportation, logistics, or service systems • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) • Experience supporting federal clients or working in DHS environments • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications • Active DHS Public Trust BI or higher-level clearance within DHS.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field • 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, operations research, modeling, or a related discipline • U.S. citizenship is required

Travel within the United States is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. No H1B Visas sponsorship.
