Job description

The Senior Product Engineer – Air-Cooled Chillers is responsible for the full product lifecycle management of air-cooled chiller systems utilizing centrifugal compressors, mainly magnetic oil-less type. This role encompasses new product development, product maintenance, and sustaining engineering to ensure that the product line remains competitive, reliable, and compliant with industry standards and customer expectations in various industries such as thermal comfort, industry and potentially towards mission-critical applications such as data centers.

The position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with the ability to coordinate effectively with regional teams across different time zones (e.g., USA and Asia). A balance of deep technical expertise (in HVAC, preferable), structured project management, and proactive communication is essential

for success.

Lead product development and sustaining efforts for air-cooled chillers using magnetic centrifugal compressor including

piping design, heat exchanger sizing, component selection and system integration.

-Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and certifications (AHRI 550/590, ASHRAE, UL, ISO).

-Perform system-level simulations and calculations to validate thermodynamic performance, part-load efficiency, and operational envelope.

-Maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and change notices.

-Collaborate with sister companies and engineering centers across different global time zones to ensure product alignment, drawing consistency, and shared improvements.

-Coordinate cross-functional teams including development, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and after-sales support.

-Provide technical input to support sales, application, and service teams, including review of special configurations and

field feedback.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

-Strong knowledge of centrifugal compressors (magnetic or oil type) for air-cooled chillers.

-Expertise in the refrigeration cycle, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and balancing with application to large-tonnage, aircooled

chillers.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting, presentations, and stakeholder coordination.

-Proven experience in generating and interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings.

-Familiarity with chiller design standards and project execution workflows.

-Ability to perform system modeling, including compressor maps, thermodynamic cycles, and load simulations.

-Familiar with international regulatory and performance standards (AHRI, ASHRAE, UL, ISO).

-Skilled in troubleshooting, FMEA, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions in fielded equipment.

-Capable of managing multiple complex projects with clear communication across global teams in different time zones.

Minimum work experience 2-3 years (preferred).
