Brief Description

Director of Business Services

Remote

Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate for Director to join our dynamic team. The candidate will ensure mission success, compliance, and quality performance. They will develop and execute departmental strategies that align with corporate goals and government client needs. This position will be in conjunction with another role either on contract or with GLT back office. The position will include a bonus structure based on annual performance in the following categories: annual performance review at 40%, business development revenue growth at 30%, and business development revenue preservation at 30%.

Responsibilities

Operations, Delivery

  • Oversee contract execution and monitor performance to ensure contract overall financial tracking and execution and health
  • Responsible for reporting funding needs and challenges to client
  • Responsible for deliverables being met, on time, and within budget
  • Work with leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for programs
  • Facilitate goal-level creation for the broader function and working with senior managers to ensure the goals cascade to staff
  • Report detailed status updates to leadership and executive team. Serve as a knowledgeable resource that provides leadership and direction

Operations, Staff Professional Development

  • Intimately involved in the interviewing process for projects to include, meeting with recruiting to identify needs/wants for staff, creating interview questions, conducting interviews, meeting with team to discuss thoughts on candidates and communicating preferences
  • Supervise team for projects to include course correction in behavior or performance, mentoring, and facilitating professional growth
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team
  • Resolve problems between teams and other internal stakeholders

Operations, Utilization

  • Coordinate with managers and other stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans This includes deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols
  • Provide processes for monitoring performance and collaborating with teams to determine ways to improve
  • Ensure all members of team are at 100% utilization and monitor own performance to ensure 75% utilization

Business Development, Revenue Preservation

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the company business development including Capture proposal efforts and elements
  • Develop Past Performance Questionnaires (PPQs) for assigned contracts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government customers, primes, and subcontractors

Business Development, Revenue Growth

  • Participate in the development of annual and long-range strategic business plans
  • Contact prospective customers using networking, referrals from current customers, POC listings from advance RFP postings, and professional organization meetings, conferences, and workshops

Business Development, Revenue Development

  • Identify new project opportunities and potential areas for impact leveraging insights from government trends and customer knowledgebase
  • Perform initial analysis of proposed or actual request of capabilities, and RFP’s to determine technical, schedule, and content reasonableness, and profitability
  • Review and interpret acquisition policy and guidance
  • Ensure proposal business deals and pricing are presented to leadership in detail, framed for executive-level decision making
  • Lead decision gate reviews and develop competitive assessments, pricing strategies, and win themes

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Twenty plus (20+) years related experience, with progressive responsibility in program and project management
  • Master’s degree in relevant area
  • PMP certification
  • Track record of applying change, risk, and resource management principles when needed
  • Experience leading and managing staff and budgets
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. Strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Experience managing budgets for multiple projects
  • Track record of practicing a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop standards, such as Standard Operating Procedures and Delivery Frameworks
  • Expertise in 3 or more lines in their portfolio to have a deeper understanding in service lines to talk to clients about them- program management, change management, cost estimating, scheduling, budgeting, acquisition support, quality assurance, inventory management, personal property, policy development, governance and compliance, HR, organizational development, and training
  • Critical thinking and very strong communications to develop briefings for executive management
  • Anticipate what is coming for the assigned portfolios and collaborate with peers
  • Must be able to pass a government background check
  • Must live in the United States and must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Skills

  • Relevant certifications for the portfolios/functional sets
  • The position will be remote with preference given to those candidates in the DC metro area
