Investment Banking Associate
Location – Columbia, MD (4 days in office)
Job Summary
This is a newly opened Investment Banking Associate opportunity within a leading private Investment Bank and Advisory Firm providing premier service to the lower middle market. This individual will join an experienced general industries team which has advised sell-side and buy-side engagements with over $15 billion in value for entrepreneurs, family-run businesses, and financial sponsors. Based in the firm’s Columbia, MD office this position will offer a hybrid work schedule, a six-figure base salary, and a highly competitive annual bonus plan with a target total compensation in the $150,000 - $185,000 range.Qualified candidates should have 2.5 to 10 years of professional experience including experience in M&A advisory or investment banking.
Investment Banking Associate – Job Description
- Alongside Senior teammates, lead transaction execution including organizing teams, managing timelines and handling engagements with internal and external constituencies.
- Manage and coordinate due diligence processes, including data room organization and communication with buyers and advisors.
- Perform financial statement analysis and build and maintain detailed financial models, including sensitivity and scenario analyses.
- Work with analysts and other associates to provide direction to achieve client outcomes and resolution of complex client transaction issues.
- Lead the completion and review of client materials including financial modeling, client presentations, pitch books and other materials as needed.
- Work with senior banking teammates to move sell-side and buy-side engagements forward.
Investment Banking – Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- 2.5 – 10 years of professional experience including recent M&A advisory or investment banking experience.
- Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience in CapitalIQ and Salesforce are preferred, but not required
- Ability to work well in teams as well as independently
- Strong ability to work in an entrepreneurial culture
- Strong work ethic and superior attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to acquire new skills and advance career
