Data Management Specialist

Overview

The Cognitive Interview Data Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the secure handling, organization, transcription, and lifecycle management of cognitive interview data within the CCQDER lab. This role ensures that all video/audio recordings and related materials are stored, catalogued, processed, and destroyed in accordance with CCQDER standards and federal confidentiality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Data Storage & Management

  • Manage the secure storage of all cognitive interview video and audio recordings on designated onsite servers and within the secure CCQDER LAN environment.
  • Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and proper organization of all recorded materials.

Cataloguing & Metadata Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalogue for all existing and future CCQDER cognitive interview data.
  • Include relevant metadata (e.g., interview date, participant details as allowed, study ID, format) and precise file location for each asset.
  • Maintain version control and ensure accurate documentation for archived and active datasets.

Transcription Oversight

  • Oversee and execute the transcription of archived video and audio interviews using approved transcription software and tools.
  • Ensure transcription accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved procedures.

Cloud Storage & CIPSEA Compliance

  • Manage the secure storage of transcribed files in a CIPSEA‑approved cloud environment.
  • Follow all applicable confidentiality, data storage, and access control requirements for restricted-use data.

Data Destruction & Documentation

  • Execute the destruction of transcribed files following approved CCQDER and CIPSEA‑compliant procedures.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of destruction activities, ensuring auditable and verifiable records.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.

5-8 Years of experience
