Position Title: Senior Full Stack SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)
Location: Merrifield, VA (Hybrid)
Clearance Requirements: None (Open to US Citizens, Green Card Holders, TN Visa, Green Card EADs)
Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: $60/hr on W2
Position Description
Join a dynamic digital delivery team as a Senior Full Stack SDET, developing innovative web, mobile, and cloud-based applications using open source technologies and Azure cloud platforms. Enjoy a collaborative Scrum environment where you'll test, automate, and ensure the quality of cutting-edge software solutions for a leading financial organization.
In this role, you will design and execute comprehensive test strategies, develop automation frameworks across multiple platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences. Your work will help improve product reliability, performance, and security for diverse mobile and web applications, including APIs, UI, and database integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and database validation across web, mobile, and cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot automation issues and work with engineering teams to optimize testing processes.
- Design, review, and execute comprehensive test plans, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and cloud testing platforms such as Perfecto.
- Support release cycles by ensuring high-quality standards through manual and automated testing.
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams, participate in planning, standups, and reviews, and continuously improve testing practices.
- Provide detailed defect reports and support incident resolution.
- Advocate for automation best practices and process improvements across teams.
Required Skills/Education
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SDET, test automation, or software development.
- 2+ years of mobile app automation testing (Android/iOS).
- Strong proficiency in Java and automation frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, Appium, and JMeter.
- Experience with API automation testing and tools like REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and version control and code review processes.
- Working knowledge of SQL, cloud testing platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure and Perfecto), and debugging.
- Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with open-source testing tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of security and permissions management.
- Experience with ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, hybrid work site in Merrifield, VA.
