Role and Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative, your responsibilities are essential to ensuring customer satisfaction and store efficiency. Duties include:

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally.
  • Manage customer transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments, along with handling coupons and loyalty program interactions.
  • Assist customers by answering product-related questions and providing helpful recommendations.
  • Follow company guidelines for restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized checkout area.
  • Ensure cash register accuracy and follow proper cash-handling procedures to minimize discrepancies.
  • Promote Kroger's services, programs, and special offers, including membership benefits and customer feedback initiatives.
  • Report pricing discrepancies, safety concerns, or theft according to company procedures.
  • Support team collaboration by assisting colleagues and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive customer relationships.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in cashiering, courtesy clerk duties, or customer service roles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is a valuable asset.
