We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Project Manager with a strong background in Commercial Construction. You will be responsible for managing multi-million dollar construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and is passionate about construction and project management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects from planning to implementation, ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, and execute them effectively.
- Negotiate contracts with architects, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are clear on their responsibilities and deliverables.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring all teams are working together effectively and resolving any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Effectively communicate project progress to all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management, through regular reports and presentations.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of proven working experience in project management in the commercial construction sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining control of project execution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software tools.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to different job sites as necessary.
