Job description

Position: Software Developer

Location: onsite in Fort Meade, MD 20755

Salary: $140,000-225,000/year (depending on years of experience - hiring multiple LCATs)

Must Haves

  • Active Top-Secret SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • 3-15 years of software development experience including the design, coding, testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions for the DoD
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cyber operations and related cyber/cybersecurity tools/systems
  • Proven experience developing with Java, C++, and/or Python
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines, cybersecurity principles, network security, risk management, vulnerabilities assessment, code reviews, and integration of security features like encryption and access controls into software
  • Software deployment experience across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Day-to-Day

  • Design, build, and maintain secure DevSecOps pipelines supporting CI/CD workflows in compartmented and classified environments, integrating automated testing, security controls, and compliance checks throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Conduct secure software engineering activities including static and dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and remediation to proactively identify and mitigate risks in both new and existing applications.
  • Serve as a technical lead by mentoring junior developers, performing peer code reviews, enforcing secure coding standards, and promoting best practices across cross‑functional engineering, security, and operations teams.
  • Translate mission and operational requirements into secure, scalable software solutions by developing prototypes, proofs‑of‑concept, and production‑ready applications that directly support national security objectives.
  • Ensure all software deliverables comply with DoD cybersecurity policies, supply‑chain risk management requirements, and system security engineering standards, including preparation of documentation required for Authorization to Operate (ATO) approvals.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to balance mission needs, security requirements, and delivery timelines while continuously improving development processes and security posture.
