Company Overview

Tool and Equipment Technician play a vital role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical tools. This position supports both in-store Tool Rental Centers and off-site repair facilities, ensuring all equipment is safe, fully functional, and ready for customer use.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will handle essential maintenance and repair tasks to keep tools and equipment operating at peak performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair small engines, power equipment, and handheld electrical tools.
  • Provide equipment recommendations and ensure tools are well-maintained.
  • Support Tool Rental Center operations by preparing customer contracts and invoices for rentals and repairs.
  • Test and inspect tools to confirm proper functionality before and after use.
  • Demonstrate safe tool operation to customers when necessary.
  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of rental equipment in-store.
  • Complete repairs at repair centers, perform quality checks, and clean equipment before returning it to the store.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure repairs are completed as required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of small engine repair and power tool maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in tool repair, rental, or maintenance roles.
  • Familiarity with outdoor power equipment and electrical tools.

Work Environment

  • Technicians work in both in-store Tool Rental Centers and repair facilities.
  • Role may involve standing, bending, lifting, and handling tools or machinery.
