We are looking for a Travel Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of material handling systems for our partners in a warehouse facility.
Role and Responsibilities
The Travel Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance activities that keep critical machinery and equipment running efficiently. You will work with various electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure all equipment meets operational standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including batteries, motor starters, relays, switches, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and encoders.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, and conveyor belts.
- Repair pneumatic systems, including diverters, lubricators, and hoses.
- Perform maintenance on hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and fittings.
- Weld equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, and other structural components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment, including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
- Reassemble machines after maintenance or repair work is completed.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark areas for repair.
- Lubricate machines and parts as required by specified procedures.
- Install or replace machine parts according to production specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to repair or move machinery and equipment.
Required Skills and Experience
- Associate’s degree in maintenance or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of related maintenance experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with AC/DC electrical systems, motors, and VFDs.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Willingness to use personal phone for work-related tasks (e.g., email, photos, video).
- Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT certifications or additional training in industrial equipment maintenance.
- Experience with material handling systems or similar technology.
- Experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
