Job Summary of Merchandise Manager

The individual in this role supports Ulta Beauty's operational excellence by leading shipment, replenishment, price changes, and markdown execution. They contribute to sales growth and guest experience by ensuring inventory flow and process accuracy. Job Duties and Responsibilities of Merchandise Manager

  • Drive operational performance across shipment, omni-channel fulfillment, and pricing execution.
  • Lead and coach task associates to complete workload priorities within payroll constraints.
  • Monitor and respond to store reporting and audit insights to ensure compliance and inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to maintain visual standards and in-stock conditions.
  • Assist guests through product demonstrations and service engagement when required.
  • Support team development through ongoing feedback, coaching, and training participation.
  • Utilize scheduling and task management tools to drive workflow efficiency and prioritization.
  • Promote adherence to operational procedures including safety, loss prevention, and inventory control.

Qualifications and Experience of Merchandise Manager

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in retail management or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, drive sales performance, and enforce compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead a team through process changes and shift execution.
  • Skilled in interpreting data, managing schedules, and utilizing retail technologies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
